Original, printed music is required for the judges — photocopies are not accepted. Music purchased and printed from an online platform must be accompanied by the purchase receipt. All scores must have numbered measures and must not display the student's or teacher's name. Students without acceptable music may perform for comments only.
All pieces must be performed entirely from memory.
Only judges may stop a performance. Judges may halt a piece at the time limit, ask for repeats or sonata recapitulations to be skipped, or stop early to allow time for written comments. Door monitors signal judges only when a time limit is reached.
The Competition will be open to the public this season.
Levels with fewer than three applicants will not be held, and the affected entry fees are refunded.
No contact between teachers, contestants, parents, and judges regarding a performance or rating is permitted before or during the event. All communication with judges and audition chairs must be in writing or electronic. Judges' decisions are final and may not be appealed.
