Peachtree Music Festival was created by professional musicians to encourage young string players, foster an appreciation for the arts, inspire great playing, and motivate the development of a unique performance style in every student.
Based in Greater Atlanta, Georgia, the festival offers two complementary events: an adjudicated competition for string players organized by grade group, and a welcoming festival that opens its stage to soloists and chamber ensembles.
We work alongside dedicated teachers and partner organizations who share our belief that performing for an attentive, encouraging audience is one of the most powerful ways a young musician can grow.

Matthew Eeuwes
Executive Director
A violist who plays regularly with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Matthew is a former assistant principal viola of The Florida Orchestra and a former member of the Rochester Philharmonic. He holds a bachelor’s in violin and a master’s in viola from the Eastman School of Music, and teaches violin and viola to students of all ages.
Yen Eeuwes
Artistic Director
Born and raised in Alpharetta, Yen earned a bachelor’s in violin from the Eastman School of Music and a master’s from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music on full scholarship. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, and the Woodruff Arts Center, and now teaches violin and piano in Johns Creek.
